AlertRix is an innovative IoT-based smart medication management system designed to address the growing problem of medication non-adherence among elderly individuals, chronic patients, and busy professionals. Studies and surveys conducted by the AlertRix team revealed that forgetfulness, difficulty managing multiple medications, and the lack of effective medication tracking systems are among the primary reasons patients miss their prescribed doses. These issues can lead to reduced treatment effectiveness, worsening health conditions, increased hospitalizations, and additional burdens on caregivers. To overcome these challenges, AlertRix integrates a smart automated pill dispensing device with a mobile application and AI-powered assistance. The system allows guardians or patients to schedule medication times through the mobile application. At the scheduled time, the device automatically dispenses the correct medication, provides voice and visual reminders, and records adherence data. If a dose is missed, the system instantly notifies the guardian through the application, enabling timely intervention. A unique feature of AlertRix is its AI-powered voice assistant, which offers simple conversational support, medication-related guidance, and companionship, particularly benefiting elderly users who may feel isolated. The platform also maintains weekly medication logs and adherence reports, allowing patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers to monitor treatment consistency. By combining automation, IoT connectivity, cloud-based monitoring, and artificial intelligence, AlertRix provides a reliable, user-friendly, and cost-effective solution that improves medication adherence, enhances patient safety, promotes independent living, and reduces the workload of caregivers and healthcare professionals.
